It also contains dicalcium phosphate, a compound made from calcium and phosphorus, which are naturally occurring minerals found in foods such as dairy products, grains and certain vegetables. In addition, a small amount of magnesium stearate is used. Magnesium stearate is a compound made from magnesium and stearic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid found in foods such as coconut oil and cocoa butter. In supplement manufacturing it is used in very small amounts to help prevent ingredients from sticking to equipment during production. This helps ensure tablets are produced consistently and that each serving contains the correct amount of active ingredient.
